Fourteen days, no reason needed
If Shunt is not what you wanted, you get your $12 back in full within fourteen days of buying it. You do not have to justify it and you will not be argued with.
How to ask. Write to support@shuntapp.com from the address you paid with, or tell us which address you used. Say "refund" and nothing else if you like. No form, no survey, no retention offer.
The window
Fourteen days, counted from the date of your payment, which is the date on the receipt Polar sent you. A request that arrives on day fourteen is in time. One that arrives later is outside this policy, though the two exceptions below have no deadline at all.
How the money comes back
Refunds are processed by Polar, the Merchant of Record for the sale, back to the original payment method. There is no way to send it anywhere else, and no cash or credit alternative. Expect it to appear within five to ten business days depending on your bank; the delay after that point is the bank's, not ours.
Any sales tax or VAT charged on top of the $12 is refunded with it.
What happens to your licence
The licence key stops being valid once the refund is processed, and any Macs it was activated on lose their activation. That is the whole of the consequence. Nothing else on your Mac is touched: your routing rules are a plain JSON file on your own disk and they stay exactly where they are, working, whether or not you hold a licence.
You are welcome to buy again later. A refund does not blacklist you.
Two cases with no deadline
These sit outside the fourteen days and have no expiry:
- Shunt is broken in a way that stops it doing its job and we cannot fix it for you. Then you can have your money back whenever that happens, however long you have had it. A link router that does not route is not a product.
- You were charged twice for the same licence. Write in and the duplicate is refunded, no questions.
What is not refundable
Only one thing: a licence key you have published or passed on to other people. The terms forbid distributing your key, and a refund on a key that has been shared around would make that free. Everything else is refundable on request inside the window.
There is nothing else to exclude, because there is nothing else to buy. Shunt is one $12 licence with no add-ons, no consumables and no subscription, so this page has no small print about partial periods or used credit.
Chargebacks
Please write to us before asking your bank to reverse the charge. A chargeback costs more, takes longer for you, and the answer would have been yes anyway. If one has already been opened, tell us and we will not contest it.
Your statutory rights
Nothing on this page reduces rights you have by law where you live, including any statutory right of withdrawal for digital goods bought online. Where the law gives you more than fourteen days, the law wins. This policy is the floor, not the ceiling.
Who is answering
Shunt is made and sold by Nia D Pham, a sole proprietorship based in Vietnam. Refund requests are read by the person who wrote the software, usually within two business days. The licence terms this policy sits under are on the terms page, and the price it refunds is on the pricing page.
